You are invited to canvass with members of We Are Oshawa working to build opposition to the Harper Government’s decision to end door-to-door mail delivery onApril 12 & 13 from 10:45AM – 3PM. We will be collecting as many petition signatures as possible which will be presented to Oshawa City Council seeking a resolution calling on the federal government to reverse this decision – and we need your help to reach our goal! Please meet us at 115 Albert St at 10:45AM (Steelworkers Hall).
We Are Oshawa believes in defending critical public services such as door-to-door mail delivery and affordable postage. As residents of Oshawa, we are all too familiar with good jobs leaving our community while costs continue to rise. With pending cuts to mail delivery and the cost of postage stamps increasing, everybody from seniors to small business owners are negatively affected. Replacing door-to-door delivery with community boxes also creates barriers for folks living with disabilities and that is not fair. We Are Oshawa believes that defending good jobs and critical public services is essential if we want to create a community that treats everybody fairly.
But time is of the essence – we can sit idle while the Harper Government cuts services and good jobs or we can take action to fight for accessibility, dignity, and fairness. For us, sitting idle is not an option and we want you to join us.
Will you join us this weekend to take action against service cuts and job losses in our community?
Please send us your name and phone number by replying to this email and we will call to confirm your participation in the canvass this weekend. Alternatively, Please meet us at 115 Albert St at 10:45AM (Steelworkers Hall).
