The People's Debate

A local citizen action group, We Are Oshawa, is partnering with the Student Association at Durham College and UOIT and Drop Tuition UOIT, a grassroots student group, to host an Oshawa Riding all-candidate debate at the historic Regent Theatre on Thursday, May 29th at 6:30PM.  Dubbed, “The People’s Debate”, the organizers plan to focus the debate on social issues such as retirement security, post-secondary education, and poverty.

    List of registered candidates in Oshawa. The NDP and Liberal candidates have confirmed their attendance for the debate but we are still waiting to hear from the Progressive Conservatives.

    I'm wondering if ODSP and OW will be debatable issues along with more resources for families, children, teens and adults with autism will be discussed. I mention the autism one because as an autistic person myself, I have been very fortunate enough to have come so far and to hold down a job. However, I would like there to be more resources for those on the autism spectrum.
